  • Terrain and accessibility

Larger commercial or rural projects may take several days to weeks or more. We’ll give you a realistic timeline after inspecting your property.

Permit requirements vary by county and project type. We can:

  • Advise you on whether a permit is likely needed

7. What is the difference between land clearing and lot clearing?

  • Land clearing is a broad term that can include clearing large tracts of land, forests, fields, or rural properties and forestry mulching.

  • Lot clearing usually refers to clearing a smaller, specific building lot or residential/commercial parcel for construction.

We do both, from small residential lots to large rural properties.

8. Do you offer forestry mulching?

Yes, we offer forestry mulching where appropriate for your property. Forestry mulching:

  • Clears brush, small trees, and vegetation in place

  • Leaves a layer of mulch on the ground

  • Is often less invasive and faster than full removal

  • This is usuallly the first step in most land clearing projects and is the most cost effective

Contact us to discuss whether mulching is the right approach for your project.

9. Can you clear land that’s overgrown with heavy brush and trees?

Yes. We specialize in clearing overgrown properties, including:

  • Heavy brush

  • Dense vegetation

  • Large trees

  • Stumps and roots

We have the equipment and experience to handle difficult, neglected lots and get them ready for building, farming, or recreation.

10. Do you haul away debris, or is it left on site?

We can:

  • Haul away debris (trees, brush, stumps) if requested

  • Pile or windrow material on-site for you to handle and burn

  • Mulch material on-site with forestry mulching

  • Burn debris onsite where permissible

We’ll discuss your preferences and include debris removal or disposal in your estimate if desired.

11. What’s the difference between root raking and regular land clearing?

  • Root raking uses a rake attachment on an excavator or other machine to push roots, stumps, and shallow vegetation to the surface, often for grading or final site prep.

  • Regular land clearing removes trees, brush, and vegetation first, then may include root raking as a final step.

  • Root raking is commonly used to prepare a clean pad for building or to remove remaining roots after initial clearing.

12. Do you build ponds, and what size ponds do you construct?

Yes, we construct earth ponds for:

  • Stormwater management

  • Irrigation

  • Aesthetic or recreational ponds

  • Livestock water

Pond sizes vary based on your land, water source, and goals. We’ll evaluate your site and design a pond that fits your needs and local regulations.

13. Do you work with homeowners, builders, or both?

We work with both:

  • Homeowners clearing land for a new home, driveway, pasture, or recreation

  • Builders and developers preparing lots and sites for residential or commercial construction

  • Landowners with rural or agricultural properties

We adjust our approach and communication style to fit each type of client.

14. How do I know if my land needs clearing or just brush removal?

  • Forestry Mulching is usually the first step in the process. It open the property up so that you have full access and from there you can determine large tress that can stay or be removed.

  • If doing a full clear it significantly reduced the amount of debris from clearing and is healthy for the soil.

  • Full land clearing is needed :

    • For Home site location

    • Foundation sites

    • Cosmetically for homeowners preference

If you’re unsure, send us photos, and we’ll discuss your goals recommend the right level of service.

15. How do I get started with a land clearing project?

Getting started is simple:

  1. Call us or fill out our contact form.

  2. Provide basic info: location, lot size, and what you want to do with the land.

  3. Send us pictures of the land or project

  4. We’ll schedule a free site visit or consultation.

  5. We’ll provide a detailed, written estimate.

  6. Once you approve, we’ll set a start date and get to work.

16. How do chose the right company to take care of my land projects?

Choosing the right land clearing company is critical to getting your project done safely, on time, and without costly mistakes. Here are the key things to look for:

Proper Insurance and Proof of Coverage

Make sure the company has sufficient general liability insurance. Always ask for a Certificate of Insurance (COI). A reputable company will provide this without hesitation. This protects you if something goes wrong on your property.

DOT Compliance and Professional Standards

Choose a company that is DOT-compliant. This shows they operate professionally, maintain their equipment properly, and take their business seriously.

Consequences of Hiring the Wrong Contractors

Unfortunately, we perform many projects cleaning up after other contractors who didn’t do the job right. Using undersized or improper equipment, cutting corners, or lacking experience. The can leave your property in worse shape than when they started and sadly it usually cost more to fix than it would have starting our correctly.

Ask About Their Equipment
Always ask what equipment they’ll use on your job. Many cheaper operators use undersized, low-power equipment that takes longer, costs more in the long run, and doesn’t do a thorough job.
Think of it this way: You can mow a yard with a weed whacker but in the end it will look like a hacked up mess. You want the guy with a commercial mower who is going to bring the right equipment for the job.  For land clearing, its no different if you want quality results.

Be Cautious of Upfront Payments

Be very careful if a contractor asks for significant money upfront with no materials provided and no clear contract. This is a red flag. A professional company will have a clear payment schedule tied to project milestones and will provide invoices and documentation.

If the Price Seems Too Good to Be True, It Probably Is

If a quote is drastically lower than others, question why. Extremely low prices often mean:

* Undersized equipment

* Inexperienced crews

* No proper insurance

* Hidden costs later

* Poor-quality work that you’ll pay to fix

Invest in a company that offers fair pricing, professional equipment, proper insurance, and a track record of quality—not just the lowest bid.

At Precision Land Solutions, we stand behind our work, operate with full insurance and DOT compliance, and use the right commercial-grade equipment to get your land clearing job done right the first time
